About Us

The idea of the Choir was conceived in late 1996  following a BBC television announcement about 'BT Voices for Hospices' plans for world-wide singing of  “Messiah”. The first rehearsal took place in January 1997 for the presentation on 18 October at the West Bromwich Town Hall. So successful was the event, financially and in fellowship, that the members decided they wished to continue to meet, learn and sing ...... and here we are! The Choir was originally known as “The Sandwell Community Choir”.

We formed a young people's Choir on 3rd September 2007 for ages 6 - 16 and we currently have vacancies for membership with them.
