These are just a few of the compliments received from members of the audience at Holy Trinity Church Old Hill in the West Midlands at the conclusion of the performance.

The Armed ManVoices In Harmony, together with an eleven piece orchestral ensemble brought together especially for the occasion, performed The Armed Man by Karl Jenkins at Holy Trinity Church, Old Hill, In the West Midlands on 21st September 2013, the International Day of Peace.

The performance which featured six soloists, all of whom were choir members, was augmented with a video presentation which was also the work of a choir member.

The Armed Man, A Mass For Peace, by Karl Jenkins was commissioned for the millennium by the UK Royal Armouries and premiered in London in 2000.  Karl Jenkins said that as he started composing The Armed Man the tragedy of Kosovo unfolded and he was reminded daily of the horror of such conflict so he dedicated the work to the victims of Kosovo.  The poignancy and relevance of the work is heightened by the fact that the CD was released on 10th September 2001, the day before the tragic events in the United States.

Robert Snaith, Chairman of Voices In Harmony, said “As I watched the news last night about yet another atrocity, this time in Kenya, I realised once again how important works such as The Armed Man are, in trying to make people aware that ‘better is peace than always war!’”.
